Hi, my name is Amy (Star Prana) and I warmly welcome you to The Gem Jar. I am a fully qualified and practicing Holistic Therapist, with my main specialism working with crystals. 

I have been a lifelong lover of crystals, marvelling at the mysticism and profound beauty each one has to offer. Yet only in the last 10years have I truly begun to understand how, these incredible pieces of natural beauty, can actually heal and enhance our minds, body and spirit... 

A number of years ago I was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN), an issue with the main facial nerves, (Due to blood vessels in contact with the nerve) causing constant, agonising and extreme pain.

I was forced to quit my job and essentially live a life that appeared as a hermit to the outside, but inside living my own personal hell. Unfortunately, due to the position of the vessels, surgery would be dangerous and yet the only definitive way to achieve a cure.

As you can imagine, the thought of someone poking about in my brain seemed barbaric and I opted to try to control the disorder using medications. The medications used to cope with TN came with their own sets of problems and trying to find a combination to eradicate the pain became futile…

I was at my wits end and worse, I felt trapped within my own head, often unable to speak for days, reliving horrors of my past, present and future… rock bottom.

Then the beautiful bright beaming light of crystals, began to fill my life, bringing healing and a burst of life I had long forgotten. I feverishly researched and read hundreds of texts, experimenting with the crystals I had and slowly(ish!) adding to the collection.

I began creating elixirs, performing body layouts, meditating with and incorporating them into every aspect of my life.

I was able to resolve LONG forgotten issues that, unbeknown to me, had created dis-ease within my body, manifesting as real pain and issues that the doctors had never been able to explain to me.

As I began to feel the liberation from pain, the freedom achieved after working tirelessly on myself, I began to realise that I was being blessed, with the ability to help others using the gifts the Universe were bestowing on me.

I started studying and practicing on my partner and fur baby, slowly resolving small issues and building right up to assisting in resolving larger problems, things that had long ago caused dis-ease within the physical body.

I kept practicing and building my passion, gaining certificates in Flower vibrational therapy, Wicca, Reiki and most importantly, Advanced crystal healing for animals and humans. 

Finally, I realised my path and future...

During a meditation, I was presented with a jam jar holding an 8 point star, the star of my Goddess – Inanna – and when I unscrewed the lid, the star became a part of me, flowing through me and filling me with the lifeforce of the star.

When my meditation ended, I awoke with my path and my future… Star Prana and The Gem Jar.

This is my vision, to forever work with crystals, to forever learn from them and to forever honour them.

For this reason, you will see that my jewellery pieces are all very simple wirework and strings, the focus purely to be on the beauty of the crystals.

So this is me, my story and my vision.
